Prairie Village Screened Porch Project

The homeowners sought a warm, inviting screened porch for year-round family gatherings, replacing an exposed patio. The project faced several challenges: the rear yard's low elevation necessitated careful water management and a raised deck, and tying the vaulted roof into the existing structure required significant overbuild and engineered beams. Crucially, the new space had to be bright and seamlessly connected without blocking kitchen light. We achieved this by converting the kitchen's bay window into an entrance, adding dual exits, concealing structural elements, and installing an all-season heating plan. The result is a beautiful, functional, structurally sound, custom-detailed screened retreat—featuring a stone fireplace and tensioned screen system—that perfectly extends the home's living space.
